The square will remain passable from the direction of Veletržní and vice versa from Úvoz. Drivers always use one lane. A novelty is that it is possible to drive from Křížová to the square.
“The closing time of the Exhibition at the mouth of Mendel Square lasts. From Hlinky Street there are people on the square. They can either turn to Pivovarská or turn around at the brewery and return to Hlinka, “said Anna Dudková from the press center.
This is what the first day of the excavated Mendlak looks like: a half-hour delay, the crowded surroundings
Pedestrians can no longer use several closed crossings. They will not go from the area to the monastery, the brewery or the Exhibition Center. The crossing at the turnoff from Křížová to the square will also be closed.
The arrangement of transport during the second stage of reconstruction works will last from Saturday to January 15. The next day begins according to the plan of the third phase.
Excavated Mendlák will affect drivers and pedestrians. The cars will not pass the brewery
“Over the Christmas holidays, work on the construction site will be interrupted. They will continue again from about January 5, “said Dudková.
The first major traffic restrictions on Mendel Square caused traffic complications and congestion on the surrounding streets on November 1. The convoys of cars flooded Poříčí or Hlinka. There was heavy traffic in Úvoz in Pekařská, Václavská or Křídlovická streets. Bus lines were up to half an hour late.
