A Toulouse car dealership was vandalized overnight from Sunday to Monday. After trying to run into the police, the two thieves fled, but were arrested a few hours later.
Two individuals attempted to steal a vehicle in a Toulouse on the night of Sunday to Monday, December 13, shortly before one in the morning, rue Vauquelin in Toulouse. A police dog squad, patrolling the area, arrested the two individuals. Five police officers were slightly injured.
The driver of the stolen vehicle fled by driving through the fence around the compound, where the police were trying to climb over to intervene. They had to jump down the side to avoid being hit.
The vehicle first fled before returning to the scene. He allegedly tried to run into the police on several occasions.
The driver eventually collided with a police vehicle in which two officers were heading. The latter used their weapons to control the stolen vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, in his thirties, was finally arrested on Tabar Avenue. Wounded in the knee, the man was taken to Purpan hospital.
Prosecuted for “aggravated violence against agents of public authority”, “refusal to comply” and “aggravated theft”, the accused should be tried on January 21, 2022. He was remanded in custody.
The person accompanying him, also prosecuted, was placed under judicial supervision until the hearing.
