Hanover (dpa / lni) – In the collective bargaining for the freight forwarding and logistics industry in Lower Saxony, an agreement was reached on Tuesday: The around ten 50,000 employees in the industry will receive wage and salary increases of more than over the next two years. A spokesman for the services union Verdi announced on Wednesday. In addition, the training allowances will be increased by 16 to 30 percent. On the first day of the negotiations, Verdi representatives and the General Association of Lower Saxony Transport Industry (GVN) join forces as an employer. The collective agreement has a term of 25 months until January 31, 2024.
Income will increase by 5.8 percent from January 1, 2022. In a further step, the two lowest wage groups will be lifted from July 1, 2022 to twelve euros per hour. From January 1st, 2023, increase your income by another 4.2 percent. According to Verdi, the freight forwarding and logistics industry has been experiencing a significant labor shortage for years and, at the same time, increasing fluctuation in the workforce.
