Toulouse University Hospital: Pr Fati Nourhashemi elected president of the establishment medical commission
Professor Fati Nourhashemi was elected this Tuesday, December 14, 2021, president of the Toulouse University Hospital Establishment Medical Commission. She will be supported by two vice-presidents: Dr Marie-Christine Turnin and Dr Béatrice Riu-Poulenc.
For the first time in the history of the Toulouse University Hospital Center (CHU), a female trio heads the Establishment Medical Commission (CME). This body contributes to the policy of quality and safety of care as well as that of the reception and care of hospital users. She develops, with the general manager, the medical plan of establishment.
Professor Fati Nourhashemi, elected at 1uh in turn by 45 votes for 72 voters, succeeds Professor Laurent Schmitt who was president of the CME of the Toulouse University Hospital for six years. Dr Marie-Christine Turnin and Dr Béatrice Riu-Poulenc are elected vice-presidents.
Professor Fati Nourhashemi has completed his entire university career in Toulouse. Specializing in rheumatology and geriatrics, she was appointed university professor in geriatrics in 2004. Head of the Geriatrics pole from 2015 to 2021, she is responsible for the Aging sector of the Haute Garonne-Tarn Ouest hospital group.
Dr Marie-Christine Turnin, diabetologist, obtained her doctorate in medicine in 1983. She has been a hospital practitioner since 1993 specializing in endocrinology and diabetology. She has been vice-president of CME since December 1, 2011.
Dr Béatrice Riu-Poulenc obtained her doctorate in medicine in 1995.
Appointed head of clinic in 1995 at the Toulouse University Hospital, she has been a hospital practitioner specializing in anesthesiology and surgical resuscitation since 2000. She has been in charge of the Purpan multipurpose resuscitation service since 2009 and has also managed the echocage sector and the hyperbaric medicine center since 2015.
