The event was organized by the Moldova Fruit Association in partnership with the project of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Performing Agriculture in Moldova, the Investment Agency and the Center for Export Promotion in Developing Countries (Netherlands), MOLDPRES reports.
At the forum, experts anticipated rising prices for the means of production and maintaining high logistics costs next season, saying that “fruit growers need to focus on innovative technologies and renewable energy sources to be competitive in the export market.” . “We see several solutions to the challenges: cooperation of producers with exporters in strategic programs to penetrate and strengthen the position in the target markets, including the local one; training of producers and exporters in the implementation of unique standards of quality and precision agriculture; continuous promotion of fruit in foreign markets. It is difficult to sell fruit where we are not known, our urge is for Moldovan producers and exporters to invest resources in resources “, said Iurie Fală, executive director of Moldova Fruct.
Speakers at the conference mentioned that it is not only the marketing of the product that is important, but that producers need to analyze consumer preferences and current trends in the field, such as the implementation of good agricultural practices, organic production, etc.
