Veils and spacings were missing. Thousands of people gathered in Prague for compulsory vaccinations
Thousands of opponents of anti-epidemic measures traveled to the center of Prague on Sunday. The participants demonstrated against compulsory vaccinations and alleged violations of personal freedoms and the Constitution of the Czech Republic. About four thousand people gathered on Wenceslas Square, and after the opening, rallies continued around the Office of the Government as far as Hradčany.
Although the official event organized by the Chcípl PES groups did not start until 2 pm, hundreds of participants arrived on Wenceslas Square well in advance. The demonstration was introduced by a song by Karel Kryl and a speech by the chairman of the initiative, Jakub Olbert.
Police estimate that about 4,000 people gathered in the square at 3:30 p.m. However, only a handful of them put on the veils;
Police are calling for a protest against the anti-epidemic measures in force, with protesters whistling. There has apparently been no escalation of the conflict.
The assembly traveled to Prague Castle. The organizers decided to end the event at the statue of the first Czechoslovak president TG Masaryk on Hradčanské náměstí. But first they planned a stop at the Office of the Government.
“Every citizen has the right to decide whether or not to be vaccinated against covidu-19! We are not against voluntary vaccination, we are only against compulsory vaccination, which is trying to establish a government here with the support of the Czech Parliament! citizens can decide, the government is forcing us to vaccinate using corruption and extortion methods! ” the organizers of the event explained their positions.
