RTL today – Paulette Lenert: “We are not talking about compulsory vaccinations yet, for the moment”
The Minister of Health was the guest of RTL this weekend, she returned to a possible vaccination obligation in Luxembourg, a subject which “annoys” and which divides, everywhere in Europe.
She believes that it is not yet time to discuss it in Luxembourg, and that when the day comes, it will have to be done with hindsight and with a clear head in order to avoid even more division in the country.
The Minister of Health adds that certain professional sectors may be affected by this provision, if the health situation so requires.
Paulette Lenert also explained that she wanted to finish her mission because “we still claim our two feet in the mud of the pandemic“, she exclaimed at the microphone of RTL.ministers are not machines, and we are all very busy and focused on the current situation“. She did not rule out her participation if the party did her the honor, but in due course.
Dan Kersch, the resigned Minister of Sports, Labor, Employment and Social and Solidarity Economy, meanwhile returned to ADR’s new strategy which instrumentalizes the anti-Covid campaign for political ends: “these practices must be denounced and condemned“he said.
He explained that he resigned from his post for health reasons, but he does not rule out a new participation in the 2023 elections, it will depend on “his constitution”.
The tax policy of the socialist fraction will be presented in spring 2022, Dan Kersch sees no taboos: a national tax on speculations, a wealth tax, an increase in the maximum tax rate, inheritance tax with a certain exemption … all these proposals must be discussed in a differentiated way.
The “corona” tax still seems to be topical among the socialists with, for a certain period, a somewhat higher selective tax rate for the “winners” of the crisis. Dan Kersch announced that “several solutions were offered in the future and that proposals could soon be made by the LSAP“.
