Warsaw: The 19th Century Art Gallery reopened at the National Museum
A masterpiece of Polish painting and – a total of about 300 streets of sculptures, presented in a new, new setting and exhibition at the Gallery of 19th Century Art of the National Museum in Warsaw (MNW), which from December 9 will be for the district.
“In museums, the most difficult thing to change is what already exists, works and enjoys a bestseller” – said prof. Łukasz Gaweł, director of the National Museum in Warsaw, opening a conference on the renovated Gallery on Wednesday. He recalled that the author of the gallery’s shape was Agnieszka Morawińska.
“We rearranged the Gallery, we wanted to create new elements, new elements – images – refresh and refresh to find the year of the year” – for prof. Gaweł. “There were many people again at the new Gala, all the museum employees were new people this time, listing a long list of people.

She drew attention to additional threads at the exhibition. “We have kept the current narrative of the exhibition, but there are also additions. We paid more attention to, among others, Witold Wojtkiewicz, one of the masters of Young Poland, a visionary whose work went beyond the nineteenth century, and we confronted the painting by Jan Mateka with the achievements of his student Maurycy Gottlieb and Wojciech Gerson. “Although the concept of this gallery has not undergone revolutionary changes, because it is about the presentation of art from the Enlightenment to Young Poland, it has enabled us to shine our paintings thanks to bold colors,” she added.
According to her, the solution of the Gallery’s workshop is a new version of Stanisław Wyspiański, prepared by us curator by Anna Rucińska from the Cabinet of Prints and Drawings.
“There will be several Wyspiański’s in the rotating system; more important in the pastel technique, but also oil paintings will be shown, e.g. ninety +.
In addition to the painting in the 19th century Art Gallery, there is also a set of sculptures next to each other.
