Toulouse: Drugged and stripped after having a drink with a man met on the internet
A Haut-Garonnais was assaulted in an apartment last week in Toulouse. After joining a man, he was drugged and robbed. He doesn’t remember anything until he woke up in his car the next day.
He may not be the only victim of these people but he chose to break the silence so that others are not trapped and assaulted like him. Julien *, just in his forties, experienced a violent assault last week, on the night of Wednesday, December 1 to Thursday in Toulouse. “I was staying with friends in Toulouse and around 12:30 am, as I was leaving, I received an invitation on Grindr”.
Grindr is a dating application for people, especially gays, which allows you to locate nearby subscribers in order to make an appointment. “I said okay to meet this person. He gave me an appointment at his home in the Jean-Jaurès sector. When I got to the bottom of the building, he came to the street, he didn’t come down from the building. He explained to me that we couldn’t go up to his house but that we could go to a friend of his. I think, retroactively, that the first address was a fictitious address for a trap ”.
Confidently, Julien takes this man in his car. He parks near Place Dupuy and goes to the apartment of the friend of his meeting. “He offered me a drink, I accepted. I hadn’t drunk alcohol before. What he served me was something sweet and bitter at the same time. Two minutes later, it’s the black hole ”.
“They used my bank card”
Julien wakes up the next day, Thursday, December 2 around 11:30 am, in his vehicle, in a T-shirt, in the Saint-Aubin district. “I was lying in the back of my car. I was cold, I turned on the heating of the car. They had stolen my shirt, my jacket, my bank card, cash but also my phone. I know they used my fingerprint when I was unconscious to make purchases through Paypal. They also made contactless payments, especially in a mini-market ”.
When he returns home, Julien realizes the boss he has on his head but also the multiple bruises on his arm and on his back. “These injuries are probably related to the moment they dragged me, unconscious, to my car… I imagine it anyway. I saw a doctor who noticed my injuries. I hope they will be quickly found by the police ”.
Julien, who has filed a complaint and is due to be heard shortly by the police, has decided to testify. “So that it does not happen the same chosen to other people in Toulouse, warns this man. Of course, it’s not easy to talk about it, but I think it’s necessary ”.
