37,000 healthcare workers per text message for booster
Fewer 37,000 healthcare workers aged 60 and older are today texting against a booster vaccination. These people can now make an appointment online.
In order to fill as many available time slots as possible at the vaccination locations, the GGD GHOR. These care employees were also previously vaccinated by the GGDs, so they were already in the system. They also meet the current criteria for a booster: they are 60 years older and received their last regular vaccination more than 6 months ago.
Technical problems from 1956 to 1960 solved
Some of the care employees concerned experienced a technical defect. It concerned people born in 1955 to 1960. The problems were solved early in the afternoon.
Care employees from mid-December
In principle, healthcare workers have not yet received an invitation to come to a GGD location for a booster. Employers make an inventory at the moment how many employees they want to invite. At the beginning of December, the RIVM will give a ‘To go’ and employees are invited. The GGDs will start with the booster vaccinations in mid-December.
More early invites?
It is not yet certain that today’s SMS action, December 7, will be answered again. GGD GHOR Nederland has made an inventory in the short term that care employees have made use of the SMS offer and a repetition is useful. The goal of the GGD remains to offer as many people as possible a booster vaccination as quickly as possible – based on who needs it most.
Dropping by now without a letter or text makes no sense
Healthcare workers without a letter or text message are not yet ready for a booster vaccination. Free walk-in without an appointment is therefore not possible. The 37,000 people who have received the text message must be able to show it at the vaccination location in combination with an identity document.
