Revisit Christmas with The Good Goods!
Christmas is 18 days away! For many it is still the frantic race for gifts. For others, it is the other way around. Some are rather driven by the desire to receive less, if any, gifts for this Christmas 2021. A choice often misunderstood by those around them, their relatives or even their friends. So, how do you make them understand with pedagogy? Tips from Victoire Satto, co-founder of The Good Goods, a 2.0 media focused on more responsible fashion.
A more frugal Christmas
First big step to get your message across: pedagogy. Your ecological beliefs are not those of others. Each has its own degree of awakening. So if you want to get your message across, put on a benevolent, gentle exchange. Explain your reasons in a simple and concrete way. You can refuse to receive ten gifts for lack of space or because you cannot reciprocate financially, for example.
Obviously, anticipation is also an essential key. Do not wait until you are on the 23rd, to explain to them that, this year, you are saying no to the traditional December Christmas. Do not hesitate to discuss the subject from a distance from the event, to avoid stress and anxiety.
If you are having difficulty bringing up the subject, take an interest in them first. Ask them what they need or want, before you talk to you! It’s a great way to talk.
Some of your loved ones are extremely frustrated at the thought of not giving you gifts. You can then remind them that Christmas is above all an opportunity to be together, to take the time to live. If the material attention for them, then think about the alternative ideas. You may need to replace a kitchen utensil or want to discover a new brand of organic cosmetics. It’s now or never.
The key is benevolence but also patience!
Pssst: if you need gift ideas The Good Goods has a reasonable selection!
