Health – Hanover – From Saturday on only 2G when shopping in Lower Saxony – Health
Hanover (dpa / lni) – In the coming days, numerous tightened and at least some relaxed corona rules are expected to come to the people in Lower Saxony. Those who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus or have recovered from a Covid infection should no longer be allowed access to many shops from Saturday. A corresponding ordinance should then come into force, as the State Chancellery announced on Monday evening in Hanover. The federal and state governments agreed on such a decision last week – however, it was still unclear when the state would die in gold. Grocery stores or pharmacies are not affected.
In addition, the number of spectators at events should decrease – and that too from Saturday. According to the State Chancellery, a maximum of 10,000 people should be allowed at events outdoors, depending on the corona warning level, and a maximum of 5,000 people indoors. In corona warning level three and in regions particularly badly affected by corona infections, indoor and outdoor events should only be allowed with a maximum of 500 people. However, Lower Saxony is still a long way away from this nationally tightened warning level.
According to plans by the state government, those who have not been vaccinated against the corona virus or have recovered from a Covid infection should be able to meet fewer people from Saturday. Then a household should only be allowed to meet with two people from another household. Anyone younger than 14 does not count. The federal and state governments had already agreed on this as well.
Trade fairs, Christmas markets and discos in warning level three – or should close in regional hotspots. A regional hotspot is a district if there is a seven-day incidence of more than 350 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week. The district of Cloppenburg, for example, has such a high value according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
However, according to plans by the state government, there should be relief for the already existing 2Gplus rule. Restaurateurs or body-hugging services such as hairdressers should be given the opportunity to forego the additional tests. This should take effect if only 70 percent of the capacities are used, or in a small company only one customer and one employee come together. For indoor sports, the option should also be given to dispense with tests with a limit of ten square meters per athlete.
Since Saturday, people have already been exempt from the additional test if they receive a corona booster vaccination. Anyone who has not yet had this further vaccination, but two vaccinations from the manufacturers Biontech / Pfizer, Moderna, Astrazeneca or one with Johnson & Johnson, must show a negative test. A rapid test may be a maximum of 24 hours old, a PCR test a maximum of 48 hours.
“The planned changes MAKE a more flexible use of 2Gplus possible without compromising protection against infection,” said Prime Minister Stephan Weil (SPD) according to the announcement. Weil asked dying people in the country to reduce their contacts in the coming weeks.
Economics Minister Bernd Althusmann (CDU) said: “We want to provide small but feasible reliefs for gastronomy and retail, which can still be guaranteed under the current pandemic conditions.”
Health Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) emphasizes that the pandemic situation in Lower Saxony is serious but manageable. “To keep it that way, we unfortunately still need rules that intervene in many areas of daily life and we die for those in Lower Saxony.”
