Autolinee Toscane is looking for 200 drivers, the extraordinary recruitment plan starts
“Autolinee Toscane is looking for 200 new drivers, of which 100 between January and February. An extraordinary recruitment plan is underway to maintain and implement the quality of service in all areas of the region “.
The announcement was made by the same company in a press release. The increase in the workforce “stems from the desire to guarantee all services to users, to cope with absences linked to the lack of green passes or those, which are growing due to illness. To which are added the necessary recruitments for retirement turnover, which in 2022 will require an additional 100-120 drivers “, explains the company which for this reason” has decided to start the selection for about 100 new drivers in January. The goal is to have a ranking from which to draw in the course of 2022. The plan provides for fixed-term hires that can be transformed into open-ended contracts ”.
“Not an easy choice – explains Jean-Luc Laugaa, CEO of AT – because, as reported by the same sector associations, this profession is no longer attractive, and it is increasingly difficult to find available people. Difficult because there are challenging and expensive entry barriers: in addition to the D or E driving license you also need the CQC (driver qualification certificate). A cost that ranges from 3 thousand euros up to even 5 thousand. A challenging figure for those without work. To prevent the lack of drivers – concludes Laugaa – from becoming an emergency, the sector associations have asked the government for a contribution of 400 thousand euros to help young people and obtain the required requirements. We also ask the Region to help us by planning special training courses for bus drivers “.
