Roglic wins ahead of Colbrelli and Pogacar in the first edition of Beking Monaco, pro cycling news

The Principality today hosted a great day of sport and solidarity entirely dedicated to cycling.
Organized by Matteo Trentin, AWE International Group and Live Your Passion, a start with a team Pro / Am to raise funds for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the Michele Scarponi Foundation.
Primoz Roglic wins the first edition of BeKing Monaco
Primoz Roglic today won the 1st edition of Beking Monaco, an event dedicated to cycling, solidarity and the theme of sustainable mobility designed by Mattéo Trentino in collaboration with AWE international group and Live your passion. Slovenian Jumbo Visma champion crossed the finish line ahead of the Italian Sonny colbrelli and Tadej Pogacar.
This criterium in the streets of Monaco is event on the official UCI calendar and was created by cyclists and sportsmen living in principle to find a meeting point between cycling as a sport and cycling as a sustainable means of transport.
The day opened with a Pro / Am (team race combining professionals and amateurs) which saw 12 teams made up of two professional cyclists, an ambassador of the Charlène de Monaco Foundation and two amateurs engage in a team time trial aimed at raising funds for the Michele Scarponi Foundation and the Monegasque Foundation.

In the afternoon, the Prince Albert of Monaco kicked off the Critérium during presented the 40 champions, the elite of international cycling, competed on a course of 1.3 km to be repeated 40 times.
Primoz Roglic, winner of three Vuelta and Olympic champion in Tokyo 2020 won ahead Sonny colbrelli, Italian champion, European champion and winner of Paris Roubaix 2021 (Bahrain Victorious) and Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), winner of the Tour de France 2020 and 2021.
“It was a fast and difficult race from the start and in the last laps the best riders stayed in the lead – a commented Primoz Roglic at the end of the race – it’s always nice to win and I think it was a great event, it was important to participate and get involved for this cause. It was the last race of a season which had its ups and downs for me, now I am slowly starting to prepare for the next one “.
