The incredible gift of a catering group to allow its employees to reunite with their families
It’s a nice gesture. Based in Hong Kong, the Black Sheep restaurant chain has decided to reward its employees in order to allow them to reunite with their families, all over the world, which they have not been able to see since the start of the health crisis. According to information from CNN, the group has indeed spent 650,000 dollars, approximately 575,000 euros, for its 250 employees, stuck in the territory for two years, due to the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to money for flights and the Covid tests needed to travel, employees were also given weeks of unpaid leave of absence.
The company will also fund the quarantine that employees will respect when they return to the country, after visiting their loved ones, lodging them in one of its hotels and delivering meals to them every evening. “We had drunk a bottle of wine too much. The next day we spoke to our sales managers. They are there to help us not to make stupid decisions. They were totally against”, laughs the co-founder of the chain. restaurant, Syed Asim Hussain.
10,000 euros for its employees
The only condition imposed by Black Sheep to benefit from this incredible gift: that the employees commit to working at least one for the group upon their return. “It’s a business where the margins are still very thin especially now, explains Syed Asim Hussain. I know it’s a bit bloated, but it seemed like the right choice to do.” Among the employees who will have the chance to benefit from this nice gift, a British resident who has not been able to see her parents since June 2019.

Other patrons have recently been illustrated for their good attitude towards their employees. In October, the founder of Spanx, to celebrate the company’s valuation of $ 1.2 billion, offered all of her employees two first-class plane tickets to anywhere and a check for $ 10,000. When her company launched in 2000, with just $ 5,000, Sara Blakely aimed to reach a valuation of $ 20 million. An ambition that many people laughed at… but which is now largely outdated, to the delight of its employees.
