the poignant appeal of Albert of Monaco to protect his children and Princess Charlene
In an interview with Paris Match, Prince Albert of Monaco is protective of his family and his wife Charlene, asking that his relatives be left “alone”.
“Leave us alone”: message from Prince Albert is clear. Facing Stéphane Bern in Paris Match, Prince Albert has indulged in some new confidences on the problems encountered by his wife and which have caused so much talk for several weeks, even months. Returning shortly after eight months away from her family in South Africa, the princess Charlene, still in full recovery after major health concerns, was unable to keep his official commitments and attend, last week, the national festivities of November 19. A period of rest decided by mutual agreement with the Prince of Monaco for the well-being of the princess but which only fueled rumors. On November 25, the sovereign therefore made an update intended to close the debate.
“Leave her alone”
“Everyone went there with their little theory and their little comment. (…) Charlene needs calm, rest, tranquility and appeasement. Everyone needs to understand that. I say it kindly: leave her alone, leave us alone awhile. “ Then the sovereign clarified once more that there is nothing else behind this state of the princess which worries the subjects: “I want to stress this because I know the rumors, the princess does not suffer fromno serious or incurable illness. It is not a couple problem either. Our couple is absolutely not in danger, I want to be clear on this point. This is the consequence of all the operations she has undergone for a few months. Here too, I must declare the truth: there was no no cosmetic surgery; it was just dental, septum and sinus problems. “
A therapeutic retreat abroad
Finally, the sovereign mentioned the convalescence of Charlene of Monaco, which takes place in a secret place: “Charlene was really exhausted. General exhaustion, physical and moral. So that we decided together, and with our close families, that the best option would be for her to be able to rest calmly, outside Monaco, for obvious reasons of discretion and comfort, therefore abroad, time for a therapeutic retreat which will allow him to recover definitively. On his return, she herself was aware that she had to get help. “
