The only bus line from the Šluknov foothills to Prague ends, the carrier is the wine region
A line ordered by the region is to run between Prague and the Šluknov foothills.
As of November 29, Quick Bus will end the only direct bus line that connects the Šluknov foothills with Prague. The carrier from the end of the wine is mainly the Liberec region. But he refuses and promises residents a new connection. This is the line Rumburk – Varnsdorf – Česká Lípa – Prague.
“The economic situation does not allow us to continue operating this part of our transport services. The Transport Authority of the Liberec Region has decided to include a section of the route along the Liberec Region in the category of ‘mandatory’, ie subsidized services, “ the carrier stated in its statement on the website.
According to him, the regional authority banned the carrier of passenger transport from Svor to Prague. So far, the license has banned transport within the region. “In this situation, the operation of this line is absolutely economically impossible for us,” the company said in a statement.
New line included in PID
The Liberec Region has previously presented a plan for a new bus line 400, which will be established in cooperation with the Central Bohemian and Ústí nad Labem Regions and will be fulfilled in a public service obligation. “The importance of ensuring a truly stable connection has been demonstrated by the coronavirus pandemic, which, unfortunately, is mainly a long-distance commercial line,” said Filip Trdla, spokesman for the Liberec region. It was during the pandemic that some commercial lines did not run at all. This is also an example of a connection from the Šluknov foothills.
According to the region, Quick Bus was invited to participate in the newly prepared concept. “The Liberec Region insisted that it be part of the new connection concept if this carrier did not agree with the Central Bohemian Region at the entrance to Prague Integrated Transport,Trdla added. According to the region, in 2020 the carrier finally withdrew from such a plan at the last minute and did not conclude the contract.
The county complained that Quick Bus had not let him know when he resumed the line. According to the region, the carrier was no longer interested in further cooperation. “For passengers, and this is the most important thing, the Liberec Region, in cooperation with the Central Bohemian Region, will provide an all-day and all-week connection offer. Part of the connections will also be run from the Ústí nad Labem Region, while the Liberec Region has in the past offered the possibility of extending the scope of connections to the newly prepared lines towards Varnsdorf,Trdla said.
The new line 400 should start operating on December 12. The timetable is not yet available.
