Tisséo, the public transport establishment in the Toulouse metropolitan area, is distinguished by a Local Investment Victory for its Téléo urban cable car project.
Jean-Michel Lattes, president of Tisséo Ingénierie and Tisséo Collectivités, received the National Grand Prize for Local Investment Victories from the FNTP (National Federation of Public Works) for the Toulouse urban TV project, Téléo. A project whose cost is estimated at 82 million euros (design and investment). The awards ceremony took place on November 16 in Paris, in the presence of Bruno Cavagné, president of the FNTP, on the occasion of the Mayors and Local Authorities Fair. The objective of this competition is to promote local initiatives which participate in the growth of territories and the attractiveness of municipalities through the development of infrastructure and equipment.
Commissioned at the start of 2022
” By interconnecting with other transport networks, Téléo is an efficient alternative to the car and contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gases. The choice of this mode of transport allows us to preserve the landscape and the quality of the living environment of the inhabitants. This award testifies to Tisséo Ingénierie’s commitment to the ecological development of Toulouse’s public transport network ” said Jean-Michel Lattes. Téléo, the longest urban cable car in France (3 km), should be put into service by spring 2022 between the Oncopole and Paul-Sabatier University, with an intermediate station at Rangueil hospital. It will connect the new health center built on the AZF site to the university and hospital center of Rangueil, spanning the Garonne and the slopes of Pech David, forming part of the southern belt of dependent transport Colomiers, Basso Cambo and Montaudran.
