Deputies of the State Duma (Duma) from the LDPR faction have prepared amendments to government projects on the introduction of QR codes for vaccination against coronavirus or a previous illness, which are required to be presented in public places and transport. In particular, the deputies suggested issuing a QR code to two more categories of Russians – those vaccinated with foreign vaccines, as well as “unofficial” COVID-19 patients. Deputy Chairman of the LDPR faction, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov said that such citizens are no different from those who preferred the Russian vaccine or officially suffered the coronavirus.
“If collective immunity is important to us, we need to give them the opportunity to receive a QR code. Plus, we propose an amendment to amnesty everyone who received fake QR codes. They need to be given the opportunity to get vaccinated, ”Nilov said.
Amendments to the bills are also being prepared by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation; they do not exclude their introduction in the United Russia and Fair Russia factions.
Earlier it became known that the State Duma may consider in the first reading bills on the introduction of QR codes on December 16. It is assumed that the initiatives will not have time to be adopted in three readings before the New Year.
On November 12, draft amendments were submitted to the State Duma, confirming the use of facts of QR codes confirming vaccinations against coronavirus or a disease that has been transferred over the past six months.
