In the 46th week of this year, the incidence of influenza and ARVI in Russia decreased, in addition, the number of countries exceeding epidemic thresholds decreased, reported on the Rospotrebnadzor website.
The department noted that the epidemiological thresholds for the incidence of influenza and SARS were exceeded in 49 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Excess is recorded more often among adults.
“The incidence of influenza and ARVI is mainly due to the circulation of respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology, while there is an increase in the proportion of influenza viruses in the overall structure of positive findings of respiratory viruses,” the report says.
Influenza vaccination is carried out in all regions of Russia. As of November 19, 2021, over 49 million people have already been vaccinated against influenza, Rospotrebnadzor stressed.
Earlier, Denis Logunov, Deputy Director of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamaleya, revealed that simultaneous vaccination against COVID-19 and influenza enhances influenza vaccination.
He explained that special experiments were carried out. Scientists injected both COVID-19 and influenza vaccines at the same time.
