U Prdlavky. No forum, Zdeněk Svěrák unveiled a new bus stop in Žižkov
Bus line number 101 of Prague’s public transport will lead to Žižkov. Buses will also be built, for example, at the new U Prdlavky stop, which was established in Slavíkova Street in Prague 3. The name of the new stop refers to Ladislav Smoljak and Zdeněk Svěrák’s film Vrchní, prchni !, whose protagonist Dalibor Vrána lived nearby.

From the beginning of December, buses on line 101 will run from Vršovice via Vinohrady to the Viktoria Žižkov stop, said Filip Drápal, a spokesman for the Ropid organization, which is planning Prague’s public transport. Until now, buses have run on line 101 between Tolstoy and Zentiva.
According to Deputy Transport Minister Adam Scheinherr, Solaris Urbino 10.5 cars, which are low-energy and low-floor, will be used on the line. According to him, buses should make it easier to move around Prague, especially for parents with children in prams, seniors and people with reduced mobility.
According to Scheinherr, the extension of bus line number 101 has long been used by the city districts of Prague 2 and Prague 3, which was also confirmed by the mayor of Prague 3, Ptáček. Vinohrady and Žižkov are densely populated and in many places public transport stops were distant for some residents of these districts. “It is the bus line 101 inside the development that the citizens reach quickly, especially at the tram stops,” the deputy said, adding that this was done for the inhabitants of the affected areas thanks to the fast transport around the metropolis.
The new stop U Prdlavky bears a name referring to the nickname of the title character of the film Vrchní, prchni !. Dalibor Crow’s film bookseller lived in these places. In the film, he was called “Prdlavka” because his neighbor, a velorex neighbor, drove a three-wheeled car, explained the screenwriter of a Czech film comedy from the 1980s, Zdeněk Svěrák.
Minibus or midibus lines with the operation of small buses in Prague help in transport services, especially in the outskirts of the city or where the classic bus does not pass to the narrow streets. The purpose of the lines is to bring stops closer to less mobile passengers or people with prams. The new line has been operating since November, for example, at the psychiatric hospital in Bohnice, to whose premises line number 235 runs.
