The end of the traffic lights? Vde is testing an application that is running a green wave
The city will test the application on busy streets in the center, which I will show the passage of green waves. The master of this two-million-strong metropolis promises to reduce traffic and safety as well as reduce emissions, even on the world-famous Ringstrae. According to the staff of City Hall pilot project its first site – the application of Green Wave Vde, can save and fifteen percent of the emissions, for the Metro Day media representative of the Foreign Office of the City of Vienna Martin Landa.
Seven days at traffic lights
Vsch is working with Kapsch TrafficCom, which develops intelligent transport systems. The special software now connects seven hundred village traffic lights on the famous Ringstrae, the busy Prinz-Eugen-Strae, the Landstraer Grtel brewery and the key arteries on both sides of the good arm of the Danube. The total length of the cut reaches seventeen kilometers.
The master promises to reduce traffic and safety as well as reduce emissions, even on the world-famous Ringstrae.
Here, the GPS storage application shows how fast the cyclist and the idiot get to the traffic light at the time when the lights on the green light up on them. The one who stands at the red will appear as soon as it turns green. As a result, traffic participants can adjust their speed according to the traffic light signal and, if they stand red, can better prepare to start. Thanks for your convenience It is assumed that vehicles can achieve 15% savings in CO2 emissions, software supplier Georg Kapsch.
If the test operation of the green wave application in Vienna is successful, Vde connects another 600 traffic lights to the system on the main routes. The town hall also wants to strive to ensure that similar traffic functions of the outlook become a part of the car equipment. What is going on today as a bit like science fiction could become completely new in the near future. Because first of all this is made possible by the interconnected and smart transport systems that we are currently testing in Vienna, state representatives of the town hall.
Prask appky
The system, which, like in Vienna, was supposed to monitor real-time traffic, was implemented by the Czech government years ago. The state of navigation, as well as some of the system’s quality, has had a number of criticisms. They pointed out that traffic data is now available free of charge, for example in Waze’s mobile applications and Google maps.
Prague has a lot to do in the field of transport applications. In the summer, the last mayor of transport, Adam Scheinherr, boasted the last hurry in this area. Navigation has been operating in the Blanka toti tunnel complex since August. Thanks to the work of TSK Prague and an expert from the Faculty of Transport at BUT, the Waze application can be used in the Malovanka, Pran most and Letn sections. Navigation of any type did not work in the underground.
Test operation of the technology works on the principle of bluetooth signal. do not have to manipulate the phone and approve the connection with their device. Sta mt bluetooth on forward.
When bluetooth is turned off and the route leads through a tunnel with beacons, the app will prompt you to turn it on. If it is on, you don’t know anything, explain the representatives of Waze esk republika.
Ghost tram
The purely crack traffic application only covers public transport. For example, the master application of Ltaka shows the position and bottom of individual cars. According to their users, however, it does not always work as m.
If there is an accident on the track, the application starts without warning to show the position according to the distance and the bottom zero. You will also be able to observe in the application how a ghost tram passes by on the busy station, where nothing goes, the user Michal Otipka comments on the Facebook page of the Prague group.
