Fifteen people were arrested
A true international network a been dismantling with Iraqi-Kurdish, Romanian, Pakistani and Vietnamese traffickers. These criminals organized the arrival of migrants, whom they had to come from very far away, sometimes thousands of kilometers. The traffickers recruited refugees in camps like the one at Grande Synthe near Dunkirk. They have to pay 6,000 euros for the crossing to reach Great Britain.
The boats used for the crossing in particular zodiacs sometimes coming from China, through Turkey and Germany. Boats that can accommodate between 40 and 60 migrants. The traffic authorized four launches per month, the equivalent of three million euros in profits. After a year of investigation, more than 100,000 euros in cash and false papers were seized. In total, more than one police sentence of the central office for the repression of irregular immigration and the employment of foreigners without title (OCRIEST) and of the regional mobile brigade of Lille area were mobilized on this investigation. They were supported by troops from the Raid and the BRI.
