Scored in the style of Pavel Bure! Russian giant Nichushkin scored magnificently in the minority, escaping one on one – 11/20/2021
It’s amazing, but almost exactly two years have passed since Valery Nichushkin stopped being the subject of ridicule because of his amazing goalless series. Recall, it lasted 91 matches and was interrupted on November 24, 2019, when the Chelyabinsk player hit the Toronto goal and stopped the fans’ scoffing at him.
Nichushkin’s status has not changed much since then. The oversized striker never became a star, did not become one of those who consistently and often scores points, but in Colorado he is quite worthy of use. Valery fulfills his task superbly, exercising power pressure, work in selection and acting in a play-along manner. These qualities allow him to play in the minority special team, and in the away match against Seattle, as a technical striker.
In the seventh minute of the first period, when Avalanche was sent off by Samuel Girard, and the team was playing in the minority, Nichushkin showed class. Center forward Tyson Jost took the puck out of his zone with a transfer over the side, and Valery successfully watched the puck and went on a date with goalkeeper Chris Dridger. Skillful “swing” of the goalkeeper, accurate throw into the far corner – and the fans of “Kraken” on their own were convinced that Nichushkin can not only play power hockey.
This one became naked for the Chelyabinsk citizen this season. He could have been victorious for Colorado if in the end of the meeting the Avalanches had not relaxed, allowing Seattle to score three goals in a row.
Nichushkin’s goal delighted many fans, social networks paid tribute to the Russian giant Avalanche.
“Damn it, what a shot! Excellent goal, Nichushkin, ”the SportRook fan admired in the comments under the video on the Sportsnet YouTube channel.
“Nichushkin played the best goal of Pavel Bure when he made it to one,” added maceightseven.
“Hell, he can really lift the puck on a shot,” Derrick tweeted.
“Hmm, Seattle is really very bad,” says Nathan Anton.
Colorado’s big win ooze Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar to celebrate his contract renewal until 2024.
