Vaccination in the Hercules: Large crowds at Salzburg Airport
Hundreds of interested parties came to Salzburg airport on Saturday morning to get the corona vaccination – in a Hercules C-130 of the armed forces. The action lasts until the afternoon. A total of 725 people took advantage of this special vaccination opportunity.
The start of the vaccination was planned for ten o’clock in the morning, the required check-in for 9.30 a.m. But shortly after eight in the morning, a queue had formed in front of the entrance to Terminal 2 at Salzburg Airport – and it was getting longer and longer.
The invitation to corona vaccination in a Hercules C-130 transport machine did not fail to have an effect. In the previous week, interested parties at the airport had the opportunity to get the vaccination in an Airbus from Eurowings as the crow flies. 492 people died, the first anti-corona sting for many wars.
On the other hand, Sonja Klaus from Salzburg has already been vaccinated twice. Why again today? “Because I am worth it and because I want to prevent myself from becoming seriously ill and putting an additional burden on the already highly stressed health system.” Sonja Klaus received her last vaccination in June.
At that time there was still talk of a six-month protective effect. In the meantime, however, the refreshment is recommended after four months. Ms. Klaus took the opportunity on Saturday, especially since she had no problems after the first two vaccinations.
Michael Schweighofer is an airport employee and has business to do at the airport this Saturday. He helped to direct the rush of those who wanted to be vaccinated in an orderly manner. And he got his third trick on this occasion too.
Deputy Governor Christian Stöckl was delighted with the rush at the vaccination campaign: “Here, the children’s eyes are shining as well as the airplane fans. A great campaign and at the same time the protection against the corona virus, which is so important for all of us.” He also thanked everyone involved from the Austrian Armed Forces from the airport, the country’s vaccination coordination and all helpers.
The vaccination campaign at Salzburg Airport used 725 people on Saturday for an initial stitch or for a refresher.
The vaccination in the army aircraft is supposed to be the prelude to those high-profile actions that the state government has on the weekend announced earlier. Such an event should take place every week. Which will follow is open. Irrespective of the lockdown, the vaccination campaign should continue from Monday seven days a week. Land Salzburg spokesman Franz Wieser: “These vaccination campaigns can definitely be carried out. Well over 70 campaigns have already been registered for the coming week. We will see where we can set up further vaccination lines to expand this.” In addition, the vaccination for children should start soon in Salzburg.
