Prague – Today, the Karlín Music Theater in Prague will announce the winners of the Český slavík 21 music poll. the author is the president of Český slavík 21 Karel Janeček, in the main categories Singer, Singer, Band and the new Hip Hop & Rap artists gave the artists a total of 1,678,328 votes. In recent years, approximately 150,000 people have taken part in the survey.
In the Discovery of the Year category, the expert jury nominated three performers – rapper Annabelle, the group Bert & Friends and multi-instrumentalist Michal Horák. For them, votes can be sent in SMS voting up to half of the live television broadcast of the announcement of results. Furthermore, the winners of the Absolute Nightingale and Most Streaming Song on the Internet categories will be announced. The Most Popular Listeners’ Radio Impuls Award will also be presented.
The director of Český slavík 21 Jakub Horák announced some time ago that the band Kryštof, Ewa Farna, Marek Ztracený and Tomáš Klus will perform at the gala evening. However, he later stated that he would not take part in Český slavík 21. In 2012, Klus defeated Karel Gott in the Czech Nightingale poll, and later decided to boycott the poll due to the alleged censorship of the controversial rapper Martin Pohl acting under the name Řezník. Klus’s fans asked them not to send him votes in the poll. Nevertheless, he finished second twice in the singer category, but did not attend the ceremony.
The organizers published an alphabetical list of 12 performers who voted in the top places in their category on the survey website. The list shows that the winners can be Trot and rapper Butcher. The controversy provoking singer Tomáš Ortel and his group Ortel, which caused a four-year interruption in the poll, may also succeed. The band Ortel, which is associated with the regional right, won the most votes in the group category in the Czech Nightingale poll in 2017. The band Kabát won about 5,000 votes less. However, the former organizing agency of the Musica Bohemica poll, citing an alleged violation of the fair play rules, described the winner of the Coat, while she credited Ortel’s body from last year and listed him in second place.
