forgotten luggage causing five suspicious package alerts
The distraction of some public transport users is the cause of five interventions by the demining service between Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon in Lyon. The last date of this Thursday at 2.45 p.m., at Perrache station in Lyon (2nd), where an abandoned suitcase was discovered in a waiting room. It was mentioned and a security perimeter put in place.
A little earlier, around 1 p.m., three suitcases and a backpack found without an owner on platform D4 of the Perrache bus station were particularly marked by an alert. This baggage contained only personal effects, but the intervention caused disruptions in bus traffic.
In the morning, demining was undertaken for the first time at the Perrache bus station, for a backpack that contained simple clothes.
The day before, a bag forgotten on track J of the Part-Dieu station in Lyon (3rd) was discovered on Wednesday around 9:30 a.m., and an evacuation of the platform and the establishment of a security perimeter until ‘to the removal of doubt. Finally, deminers are negotiated on Wednesday at Perrache station, after the discovery around 2:30 p.m. of a cabin suitcase without an owner on board a TGV.
