ALL ANTWERP. “I’m ready to flutter further” (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Ellen Marie Moysons (27).

“As a species, I didn’t draw or paint yet. I always thought I could become a writer. And then I came across the work of Kaat Tilley. That’s a fashion designer, but in a different way she has a magical way of drawing. She kept a lot of sketchbooks and when I saw that I knew I wanted to do vague too.”
“I paint features. I think the human body is such a beautiful thing. For my last work I only painted men. I portrayed a dancer from the Ballet of Flanders. He portrayed perfectly what I wanted to put down. In a year and a half I had a whole new series ready.”
“After this series I am ready to leave Antwerp again. I lived in Barcelona for five years where I attended Academy. I was raised there as an artist. I was not familiar with the Belgian art world, but wanted to explore the scene in Antwerp. After two years I have seen it here. I’m actually not a city dweller and rather dream of being a hermit. It’s time to flutter on somewhere to a quiet spot.”
