CP and CE1 regain their school level “before Covid”
The Toulouse Academy is pleased with the educational level of the students, which is once again similar, or even superior, to that which observed before the health crisis, in the classes of CP and CE1.
Since 2018, all CP and CE1 students have participated in national French and mathematics assessments in September. The objective is to assess their level of skills, to help teachers better understand the coming year.
In Toulouse, the academy is delighted with the educational level equal, superior, to that assessed before the various confinements. “These results are interesting, since they make it possible to show that we have succeeded in absorbing the effects of the health crisis on the educational level”, welcomes Jean-Michel Blanquer, Minister of National Education, Youth and Sports in a video posted on Youtube.
The level of CP has risen compared to that of 2018
Indeed, after declining results in 2020 (explained by the confinement), the level of CP students in Toulouse returned to that of 2018. It was even exceeded in several skills, such as letter recognition (63% of success in 2018 against 66% in 2021) or the writing of numbers (83% success in 2018 against 89% in 2021).
Toulouse CE1s are also progressing
For CE1 students, the level of students is clearly higher than that assessed at the start of the 2018 school year. For example, in “reading words aloud”, the success rate reaches almost 74% while it is was 68% three years ago. “Whole number writing” is also progressing, with an estimated success rate of 77% this year compared to 72% in 2018. reading “,” problem solving “and” reading comprehension “.
