Jan Chabr, Councilor of the City of Prague, and Tomáš Novotný, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of THMP, came straight to the field to install the flags on public lighting poles.
“Public holidays associated with important historical events are of undeniable importance to society. He was supposed to stop for a while and follow another future value that respect for the rule of law, respect for human rights, if I am, are not a matter of course, “said City Hall councilor Jan Chabr at the flags on Wenceslas Square, adding that he is glad that we live in a country that is a civil society and a Western democracy.
The ceremonial lighting of Petřín and the installation of flags this year, in agreement with the management of the capital, will be provided by the Technology of the Capital City of Prague. “Over the past three days, we have flagged 120 street lighting poles across the historic center. Specifically, you will find it on Smetana’s embankment, on Národní and Na Příkopě streets. Today, we are still installing the last flags symbolically here on Wenceslas Square, where a parade of student initiatives based on Albertov in Prague ended 32 years ago, ”wrote Tomáš Novotný, Deputy Chairman of the Board of THMP.
During this year’s celebrations of the anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, people will not be deprived of the accompanying program. A number of discussions, workshops, concerts and a satirical parade are planned – all with an emphasis on safety. “I am glad that the November 17 celebrations are returning to the public space to which they belong. However, it is crucial that we all behave safely and considerately towards our surroundings, given the pandemic situation. Only in this way will we be able to return to the life we are used to, “concluded Councilor Jan Chabr.
