MKB-Nederland: ‘New compensation package very disappointing’
The cabinet announced on Tuesday afternoon that it would release 1.3 billion euros for companies that run into problems due to the new stricter corona measures. To keep entrepreneurs afloat, they can receive support from the Fixed Charges Allowance (TVL) until the new year. But MKB-Nederland thinks it’s a new business organisation.
MKB-Nederland and employers’ organization VNO-NCW are not pleased with the new corona support that the cabinet announced today. It is intended that future consequences will be compensated if they suffer a loss of turnover. This new compensation package is highly rejected and does not cover the damage in any way. In practice, few parties come for the compensation, due to the high turnover loss threshold.

With the new support package, companies are compensated in their fixed costs until the new year, but according to MKB-Nederland, ‘the bulk of the costs, the labor costs, are not compensated.’
According to both organizations, the consequences of the current situation will fall on entrepreneurs. ‘There is an eye for everyone’s interests, for healthcare, unvaccinated people, et cetera. But there is no eye for the interests of entrepreneurs. This group of entrepreneurs earns full now that they are again obliged to close their doors earlier.’
