Firefighters in Prague did not get to the announced fire due to poorly parked cars
Although firefighters throughout the Czech Republic constantly point out that at least three meters are needed to pass their equipment, in some places drivers ignore these requests. Somewhere because they have nothing else left, elsewhere on purpose. If firefighters do not have enough space for large cars to pass through, they can fall as in Prague’s Stodůlky.
Prague firefighters published a video from Sunday from Stodůlek, when they went to report a fire. But they didn’t finish. And as they aptly remarked on social networks: they didn’t finish again. It is very fortunate that it was a false alarm and no one cared about their lives in the end.
It can start burning in you too
Although it is clear that parking in a crowded housing estate is a nightmare, in this case drivers should follow at least the basic rules. You can’t have time to park for minutes. And as firefighters themselves point out, they are not tow trucks and do not have time to deal with poorly parked cars.
Drivers should cause a poorly parked car to mean loss of property, but also death. But the problems do not only affect firefighters, but also rescuers. Ambulances are not small, they also need enough space to pass.
Again, we did not reach the place of the reported fire, this time in Kurzova Street in Stodůlky😡 It can start burning in your house at any time. Keep this in mind when parking! Just 3 meters so that no one loses their life. Fortunately, this was a false alarm today.# 3metrykzivotu pic.twitter.com/Pd1FpwAMov

Let us remember that the strict ban, also from the point of view of the law, applies to parking on the boarding area for fire equipment. These are usually marked with a ban on entry, a ban on standing or stopping. Firefighters then explain: “The boarding area is used, if necessary, for the adjustment of mostly high-altitude technology, which is used both for the intervention itself and for the evacuation of people from higher floors. It is for this reason that taxiways and boarding areas have been built in the housing estates for firefighters to arrive at a distance of 4-7 meters from the entrance, so that the maximum range of altitude technology can be used effectively. “
The problem is parking at roundabouts, which is often seen in Stodůlky. The car passes there, but firefighters, rescuers or just garbage men no longer have a chance to dial. Although parking in cities, especially in housing estates, is annoying, we remember that, for example, from the IRS units, we may need it at any time.
