And a meeting in the local radio, signing session in a large cultural area and smiling responses to (many) requests for photos from fans of all ages. Our interview with the legendary interpreter of Marie Rose.
News: On November 28, you will be on stage at the Toulouse zenith to present
Chantal Goya: “It’s the same show as the one in 1981. We redid the same sets, including the shoe that flies and weighs nearly two tons. I had kept all the costumes, which were made by the seamstresses of the Paris Opera: there are more than 600! Between the dancers, the young singers and the technical team, I am surrounded by about thirty people. “
Is this show for children or for nostalgic parents who saw you on stage when they were young?
CG: “There are a lot of people in their forties in the audience! Parents come with their children and tell me ‘we wanted to see them happy looking at you, as we were!” I am lucid, with the younger generation, there is competition from the internet, series … But during the first dates of the tour, the magic was still there: the musical, it still pleases children and parents love.with this new tour and that we did not have seen the previous times: we have more and more little girls who come disguised as Bécassine! “
You are also releasing a new album, with Christmas songs on November 19th …
CG: “Yes with new titles! I also sing one of them in the Soulier qui stole” Toi mon doudou “. During the previous shows, the children had an extraordinary reaction, by raising all their blankets, when I sang this song!
In this album, I also cover classics like “Vive le vent” or “Petit papa Noël”, as Tino Rossi asked me to do at the time. “
Do you know Toulouse a bit?
CG: I’m spending my vacation in Luchon! We stop in Toulouse on the way. It really is a very beautiful city with a lot of students. We had lunch in Toulouse this afternoon, I was stopped a lot to ask me for photos: I always say yes!
