Gallery: Prague leads on Instagram. In front of Notre-Dame and St. Petersburg
It’s been a few weeks since Prague was named the most beautiful city in the world by Time Out magazine, and now it appears in the next ranking. According to the British company Design Bundles, the center of the capital of the Czech Republic is the sixth most frequently photographed UNESCO World Heritage Site on Instagram social networks. It has also overtaken prospects such as those found in the American Grand Parks and Yellowstone National Parks or at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Thirty-member ranking controlled the historic center of Rome with 61.2 million Instagram posts. The top five are still Rio de Janeiro, Venice, Kiev and Florence. Prague finished sixth with 17.7 million contributions, just ahead of Budapest. American national parks, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the center of Edinburgh, Scotland, Salzburg, Dubrovnik and, for example, the island of Bali are located behind the Czech capital.
“The Old Town, the Lesser Town and the New Town, built between the 11th and 18th centuries, testify to the architectural and cultural significance that the city has enjoyed since the Middle Ages,” Prague is written. The description continues with praise of important monuments such as Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral or Charles Bridge.
In the world of monuments, there are 1154 UNESCO in the territory of 167 states, the Design Bundles watched only 145 of the most popular, although the server did not show how it switched to the selection. The most monuments are located in Italy, there are 58 of them. In suspension is China with 56 and Germany with 51. The Czech Republic has 15 UNESCO monuments.
