Weekend in Vienna: what not to miss between exhibitions and dances
Coffee and Sacher Torte, concerts and long dances, art exhibitions and design events. Vienna in winter it shows its most fascinating side, made up of imperial memories and contemporary suggestions. And it is nice to walk along the avenues whitened by the first snows of the season or slide lightly on the ice of the skating rink in front of the neo-Gothic town hall.
Hot cups of melange (this is what they call the cappuccino here), mirrors, velvets, the shouting of crowds and soft silences. But far from being just a place of nostalgia, made up of sumptuous mansions and fin-de-siècle decorations, this multicultural metropolis shows surprising faces.
