A resident of Sallaumines was sentenced to six months in prison for harassing her neighbor. The woman used her police status to make her go through hell.

A policewoman living in Sallaumines (Pas-de-Calais) was found guilty of harassment against her neighbor, before the court of Béthune. Only the victim was present at the hearing, report The voice of the North.

The man had filed a complaint against his neighbor in May 2020. He explained that he had been harassed since moving in, three years earlier. Words were left by her neighbor in her mailbox. Calls were made to the police to harm him and to SPA to say that he was mistreating animals. His fence was also reportedly broken with a sledgehammer.

6 months suspended sentence

The 49-year-old woman who emphasized her status as a police officer also allegedly called her neighbor’s employer twice. The latter ended up selling his house and moving out last January.

The policewoman had admitted during the investigation, having put words in the mailbox, made calls to her employer to harm her and to have used her capacity as a police officer.

The young 50-year-old had been on sick leave for 3 years and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. She was sentenced to six months suspended prison sentence and will have to pay 1000 euros in damages to the victim for moral injury.
