Strangers in Frankfurt try to steal ATMs
On Monday (8th) around 2.55 a.m., four previously unknown perpetrators drove an Opel Astra J station wagon to a gas station in Frankfurt’s Südallee.
The vehicle parks them backwards in front of the entrance area and breaks the window pane with a crowbar. Then the masked perpetrators took a steel cable out of the trunk and pulled it to a cash dispenser in the sales room. When they noticed the gas station employee, they broke off their plan, grabbed the rope and fled.
In the early afternoon of the same day, a passer-by discovered a steel cable tied around a cash dispenser on Rödelheimer Strasse. The machine set up free in front of property number 32 was possibly the target of the same perpetrators as in Südallee. The rope was jammed around the machine, and there was a car towing eye at the free end. In this case, too, the perpetrators broke off their plan.
Offenbach’s license plates, which had previously been stolen in Frankfurt, obtained information from the Opel Astra J station wagon used by the perpetrators.
The Frankfurt police asks witnesses who can provide relevant information on the described cases to call 069-75552199. Of course, you should also receive all other police information.
