The sponsorship for the “art scene” 2022 in Zurich has been selected
The sponsorship for the pilot project for the further conceptual development and one-time implementation of the “art scene” in Zurich in 2022 has been selected.
On August 30, 2021, the City of Zurich launched the tender for a sponsorship for the conceptual development and one-off implementation of the “Art Scene” 2022 event, which is to take place in Zurich next year. In response to the tender, three formally valid rough concepts were submitted.
A jury formed by the Culture Service Department made a selection for the attention of the Culture Directorate. The jury – consisting of Barbara Basting, Head of Visual Arts, City of Zurich Culture (Chair), Sabine Rusterholz Petko, President of the Commission for Visual Arts of the City of Zurich, and Philipp Bergmann and Thea Reifler, Artistic Director Shedhalle, Zurich – came up with the concept of the two non-profit exhibition rooms «Hamlet» and «unanimous approval» recommended for elaboration.
The winning concept convinces through the participation of the art scene
The two associations will form a joint sponsorship to implement the “Art Scene” 2022 event. The concept “Hamlet” and “promised by the jury was convincing due to its integrative participation, as well as the participation of various actors of the Zurich art scene in a decentralized, collective organizational structure. This opens up opportunities for many artists to participate.
“Hamlet” and “unanimous approval” are well networked in the local art scene and have quickly gained wide recognition with committed and original educational projects for artists. The City of Zurich is supporting the event with a one-off amount totaling CHF 400,000.
