Rudolf Steiner School in Zurich closed due to an outbreak of infection
For the time being, the Rudolf Steiner School in the city of Zurich will remain closed. Last week, dozens of children in multiple classes tested positive for the coronavirus. More positive cases became known this week. Out of 300 students, 40 are infected. Therefore, the school medical service of the elementary school authority has ordered a ten-day quarantine for five classes, like the one “Tages-Anzeiger” reported.
According to the Zurich Education Directorate, there have only been two more class quarantines across the canton since the autumn break. The city of Zurich private school forced to act. In a letter to parents on Wednesday evening, it was announced that distance learning was being switched over to “not to be constantly exposed to externally ordered quarantines and measures”. Fortunately, most people affected, it is said, have no or only mild symptoms.
Schools of skeptics?

This, while the Steiner schools with their worldview are said to have increased skepticism towards the corona vaccination. School founder Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) considered vaccinations to be problematic, but warned against any fanaticism in this regard.
The Basel Steiner School in Birseck had already developed into a corona hotspot in March, and the Steiner School in the canton of Ticino was quarantined in May. According to reports, protective measures and the requirement to wear a mask in schools met with particular resistance – similar to those at Waldorf schools, the German counterparts of Steiner schools.
