no evacuation of residents of Francazal necessary after the pyrotechnic depollution operation
Pyrotechnic depollution operations on the Francazal military site, near Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) were completed on October 29. No explosive material was found. There will therefore be no evacuation of residents, for the moment.
Only two concrete bombs, generally used in the formation of the pilots and ground personnel, were found during pyrotechnic clean-up operations on the Francazal military site, near Toulouse.
A meager booty, but ultimately good news. “Composed of inert material and unknown explosive“as the prefecture of Haute-Garonne underlines in a press release, these bombs”therefore do not need their destruction“.
Residents of the military land where the army medical center is to be built of the 1 RTP of Francazal did not have to be evacuated.
This depollution was necessary. War machines, resulting from bombardments linked to the conflict of the Second World War, could be buried there.
But the work is not finished. New decontamination phases at the Francazal site are due to take place in 2022.
