Wedding parade in Hanover: Police control escalated
The police control of a wedding parade in Hanover got out of hand at the weekend. Investigators became aware of the company because shots were fired. In the further course of the officers pull their own guns and threaten with pepper spray, a young man wanted to free a detainee. It is being investigated for various crimes.
According to the spokesman for the authorities, Michael Bertram, the patrol car crew became aware of the parade on Saturday around 5.30 p.m. on the street Alter Flughafen. “This war is actually close to the goal,” he says. The four cars came from Vahrenwalder Strasse and wanted to go to the Star Event Center. “The officers noticed that a weapon was held and fired from the rearmost vehicle.”

The police stopped the parade immediately in front of the property. After the officers left the patrol car, three young men immediately approached the investigators. Bertram: “Among them, an 18-year-old confronts himself with a gun in his hand.” To protect themselves, the investigators also drew their service pistols and asked the young man to put the firearm away. The 18-year-old immediately followed suit.
This did not ease the situation: The young man was arrested and handcuffed. Apparently that did not please a 24-year-old trying to free the other. According to Bertram, he attacked a police officer (26): “However, the emergency services fended off the man as they pushed him away.”

The rest of the wedding party also got involved and insulted the policemen. The exact size is not known, but according to Bertram there was talk of a “quantity”. The officers managed to bring the arrested 18-year-old to the patrol car only under the threat of pepper spray. The situation only eased when more emergency services arrived to provide support. There were no more arrests.
The 18-year-old came back with the completion of the police measures but left again. The weapon that has been seized is a blank gun. The young man is being investigated for violating the gun law. The 24-year-old perpetrator is accused of attempting to free the prisoners.
