The competition has become a real institution over the years to Lyon (Rhône). The 12th edition will be held on November 29, 2021 of the world championship of pie at the Paul Bocuse Abbey.
20 candidates went through a Europe selection which took place in Paris on October 21, and the 10 will meet in Lyon in front of a past jury by the Bocuse d’Or Davy Tissot.
Two finalists from the Asia selection round will be added. On the other hand, there will be no candidates from across the Atlantic, because the selection of the Americas could not, because of the Covid, be maintained either last year or this one.
A jury of starred chefs, Best Craftsmen, personalities …
The 12 finalists will therefore pass before a jury made up of starred chefs, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and gastronomic personalities.
In the form of a sit-down dinner, the finalists’ pies will be tasted as a starter. The rest of the menu will be developed by the chefs of the Abbey Paul Bocus, as well as by the Rougié house, which is associated with the World Pâté-Coûte Championship this year.
