The largest P + R parking house in Prague is about to open. 886 places for cars were created in Černý Most
There will be almost three times more places in the east of Prague than before construction began. The space for one car cost 850 thousand crowns.
Prague will open a new P + R parking house in Černý Most on December 1. Its capacity will be the largest covered car park for commuters on the outskirts of Prague.
The opening date was announced after the inspection day by Deputy Mayor for Transport Adam Scheinherr. Compared to the original capacity of a regular car park, a number of parking spaces was almost tripled.
Of the total number, 89 spaces are intended for parking cars on gas. Another 22 seats are reserved for the disabled and 18 seats for parents with children, which are special wider seats. Eight places will be used for piercing electric cars. The house also has 28 places for motorcycles and a lockable place where cyclists can store their bikes.
Parking the cars on the outskirts of the city will cost Prague half a billion crowns, one parking space costs about 850 thousand crowns (if we include only the new spaces created). The parking house between the Makro, Hornbach and Sconto shopping centers was built by BAK Trutnov. A total of 291 million crowns is to be paid by the European Union.
On the eastern outskirts of Prague, another stand was recently created by renovating Chlumecká Street (a total of 101). “We are gradually working on projects of intercepting car parks and we will not finish until there are enough opportunities to park and comfortably change to public transport on all outskirts of Prague,” added Scheinherr.
Another parking house is to start construction in December in Nové Butovice, Prague is also planning to expand the car parks at the Hostivař Depot and in Zličín.
