The Annecy Genevois Hospital Center (Change) and the France AVC 74 association are organizing a stroke awareness and prevention day on Tuesday, November 16 at Annecy hospital. Two highlights are planned: information and screening stands throughout the day, then an evening medical meeting focused on new ways of managing stroke at Change.
Risk factor screening
From 10 am to 5 pm, in the main room of the hospital, hours of screening for cardiovascular risk factors and information on stroke will be offered. Health professionals from Le Change, members of the France AVC 74 and Diabète 74 associations and other key players in stroke management will present to share their stroke experience, measure blood pressure and blood sugar levels. , give dietary advice, provide information on the remote alarm and return home after a stroke.
At 8 p.m., in the hospital amphitheater, emergency physicians will present the new protocol for the management of transient ischemic attacks (TIA). They explain why the implementation of this protocol helps prevent many strokes. Interventional neuroradiologists will then intervene to present a new cutting-edge technique practiced at the Change to treat stroke: mechanical thrombectomy. This technique significantly reduces mortality and disability in severe cases of stroke.
