For the reception of Bourg-de-Péage (3rd), tonight, the TFH (2nd) can count on Marion Theys, the team’s top scorer with 55 goals.
After seven days, the TFH has chained seven successes and has the same number of points as the Pouzin (leader thanks to a better goal difference). How do you explain this excellent start to the season?
We rely on a good defense. But our main strength is our solidarity. The workforce is young but there is a really good atmosphere. Last season, I was in D2 at Vaulx-en-Velin. I came back to the club for the sporting challenge because the objective, in the medium term, is to climb. But I also came back to find my former partners. Admittedly, there have been some changes in the offseason. Nevertheless, on poster a very good state of mind. We must keep this dynamic.
With this winning streak, the trap would be overconfidence, right?
I am not too worried. The group is not the type to take it easy. We know how to question ourselves. Whatever the opponent, we have the same desire to win.
With 55 goals, you are currently the team’s top scorer. Do you have a goal by the end of the season on your number of goals?
I am a goalscorer. So, yeah, I like to chain goals (laughs). But what matters most to me is the collective. If each individuality brings its stone to the building for the group, it is essential. To come back to the offensive aspect, we still have some waste in the finish, especially the face-to-face with the goalkeepers. We have to be a lot more killer in the last move.
How do you approach this big meeting facing Bourg-de-Péage?
We have never won against this team. Therefore, we want to reverse the trend.
And next week, you are visiting Pouzin.
This shift is in the back of our minds. But this weekend, sur is focused on Bourg-de-Péage.
Playing in front of spectators should you do well?
Yes, it’s obviously nice to play in front of the world in the stands. And at home, on the chance that they are well filled. This is obviously an additional motivation.
