BGN 27.8 million are planned for the winter cleaning of the streets in Sofia, which is BGN 1.5 million more than this year, according to a draft plan-account of the Sofia Municipality for 2022. The proposed total amount for cleanliness is 237.69 million, which is BGN 17.3 million more than those given this year – BGN 220.4 million.

For the next year it is planned to increase the area for washing with a tank truck with a hose – 132.9 thousand decares, which is 38.4% more than in 2021, is set in the plan-account, prepared by the deputy mayors Desislava Bileva and Doncho Barbalov.

The main streets on which the public transport runs will be washed not five, but six times a year. The increase in the neighborhood streets will be up to seven times (now it is five – according to reports). BGN 1.1 million are allocated for cleaning the inter-block spaces, parks and gardens. About 302.5 thousand decares will pass through a tank truck with nozzles twice a month, which is an increase of 4% to ensure the inclusion of new streets.

BGN 61.7 million are provided for reclamation and closure of landfills, as well as for the operation of waste treatment facilities. The plant for mechanical and biological treatment of garbage provides additional funds to pay for electricity and the price per ton increases from BGN 82 / ton to BGN 95 / ton.

BGN 600,000 will be released for the construction of new sites for treatment of large and construction waste, as well as for the photovoltaic system of the Sofia Waste Treatment Plant.
