About fifty farmers from all over the department will be present from Saturday morning in Dijon under the marquee installed as every year at the entrance to the fair, for the traditionally “Côte d’Or farm”. As every year, farmers and breeders will be accompanied by their cows, sheep, sheep or other rabbits, whose presence will make children, as well as their parents or grandparents, very happy.
The presence of this “Côte d’Or farm”, set up by the departmental council, is also an opportunity to discuss local agricultural issues. The fairly humid weather of this year 2021 has led to contrasting situations for the different professions. The ranchers were better off with the humidity which resulted in better conditions for their animals after several years of drought. Even chosen for truffle growers, as Inès Schlaf recently explained to us, organizer of the truffle and taste bud festival, two weeks ago in Is-sur-Tille. On the other hand, the situation is much more complicated for cereal growers whose harvests have been affected by the spring and summer rains.
