News in brief: Bacteria in drinking water at BER, Ryanair reports good figures and United reports first flight Geneva – New York
Bacteria alarm: Coliform bacteria were found in the drinking water at BER Airport this morning. Berlin-Brandenburg Airport reported via Twitter: “During routine sampling at BER, impurities (coliform bacteria) were found in the drinking water. The cause of the union is unclear. All lines are currently being rinsed. Health authorities and drinking water providers are informed.“According to the airport, all lines in Terminal 1 are now being flushed. This can take several days. As a result, the water in the toilets cannot currently be used as drinking water, the airport says. Announcements in the terminal inform all passengers.
Passenger numbers: Ryanair counted more than 11.3 million passengers in October 2021. The occupancy rate was around 84 percent. A big jump compared to October last year. 4.1 million passengers were carried in October 2020. For the first time since the Corona crisis, Ryanair has flown in profits again in a quarter. From July to September around 225 million euros in profits were made. A year earlier there was a loss of roughly the same amount in the same period.
First flight: United Airlines has been flying non-stop from Geneva to New York again this week. The route has been paused since Corona. United Airlines announced on Monday that a B767-300ER will be used again four times a week.
