A new series for parents of young children began today in Harmony.
Babies roll over crawling blankets, fart in diapers, puff in sleeping bags, are breastfed or suckle on bottles and pacifiers. Meanwhile, mothers and fathers can watch a film on the screen without anyone caring if there is whining, croaking or yelling in the hall. “Kinderwagenkino” is the name of the idea that should enable young parents to experience culture in a child-friendly atmosphere and at family-friendly times. Actually, actually, that no one had guessed it earlier.
In fact, it actually happened, but then the first corona wave rolled in, the second, the third. Now the project is finally being implemented, which should start in April 2020 in the Frankfurt Harmonie Filmtheater. Under the motto “Small children, big cinema”, the initiators Sandra Hinrich from “Main (e) Familienagentur” and Catrin Häusser from “Frankfurt mit Kids” in cooperation with Harmonie director Dimitrios Charistes from the Arthouse Kinos Frankfurt for today’s Tuesday to first pram cinema in town invited. At the premiere, which has long been sold out, the current comedy “Contra” by Sönke Wortmann will be shown, with Nilam Farooq and Christoph Maria Herbst in the leading roles. The next pram cinema is on the program on Wednesday, November 24th. Parents can then watch a preview of Sean Durkin’s drama “The Nest” starring Jude Law and Carrie Coon.
There are parking spaces for the baby carriages in the foyer or in the cinema itself, while the film is being shown, people are allowed to stand up and chuckle, as a sophisticated hygiene concept and distance rules apply. The film is shown at a reduced volume and the hall is dimly lit during the showing. A maximum of 15 to 22 people are admitted to the small hall, seats can be booked in advance. There is also a changing table and even a microwave to warm up bottles and porridge. The Harmonie-Café is already open half an hour before the start of the film and offers the opportunity to exchange ideas even after the film has ended – be it about the cinema experience or about the next generation. Or both. my K
