The winter flight schedule will enter into force on Sunday, October 31. It offers direct connections from Vaclav Havel Prague Airport to 92 destinations, including exotic countries such as Kenya, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
There will also be other newly operated routes in the winter flight schedule, for example to Tel Aviv, Naples, Odessa, Kiev, Dubai and Amsterdam. The opening of Eurowings’ new operating base will also help to restore and further develop air traffic.
There will be direct flights operated by 47 airlines in the winter flight schedule. The German company Eurowings, a member of the Lufthansa group, is opening its base at Prague Airport. Two Airbus A319s will provide connections to 13 European destinations, including the Canary Islands and Barcelona. Ryanair offers connections from Prague to 26 cities, including popular destinations such as London, Krakow and Dublin. Smartwings Group will operate during the winter flight to almost 20 destinations, such as the Canary Islands, Madeira, Hurghada or Paris or Stockholm. Direct long-distance charter connections to exotic destinations such as the Maldives, Punta Cana, Mombasa, Cancún or Zanzibar will now be available from Václav Havel Prague Airport.
“We are pleased to see the renewal of previous routes, connections to new destinations and the growing frequency of existing routes. Thanks to this, we have handled over three million passengers by mid-October, and I hope that thanks to the new connections in the winter flight schedule, the numbers will continue to grow. We are far from the number of passengers from 2019, but we are not very happy with the number of destinations, “says Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Prague Airport, adding:” In the winter season we also expect increased interest from Czech passengers in trips to exotic destinations. We are happy to be able to choose from more options and travel without a stopover or a transfer. “
With the gradual revival of air traffic, renewed connections are also returning to Prague. British Airways will once again connect Prague with City Airport in central London, Czech Airlines will return to the route to Copenhagen, Ryanair will resume direct connections to Barcelona, Paris and Manchester, and Jet2.com will connect routes to Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle.
In addition, there will be completely new connections on offer in the winter selection. For example, Wizz Air will offer flights from Prague to Rome, Catania and Naples. Smartwings to Dubai and London. The route to Tel Aviv will also be offered in the winter offer by Israir Airlines, Blue Bird Airways and Arkia Airlines. Thanks to Bees Airline, the Prague – Odessa route is a completely new route, and SkyUp Airlines is also offering a new connection to Kiev in the winter. Ryanair’s new routes will also improve accessibility to Warsaw and Naples, and Vueling will strengthen connections to Amsterdam and Blue Air to Bucharest with a new route.
In addition to the new destinations, the frequency of connections on existing routes will also increase compared to the summer flight schedule. For example, British Airways will strengthen its connections to London, where it will fly up to twice a day, and there will be a morning flight to Heathrow Airport for connecting flights to the USA. Among the companies that will fly more often than on the summer schedule are Brussels Airlines, which transports passengers to Brussels up to eleven times a week. Ryanair will offer the same frequency with flights to Milan, which will also increase the number of flights to Dublin, Venice, Brussels and Bologna. Flydubai will increase flights to Dubai with departures up to seven times a week. More flights will also be offered on the Transavia route to Eindhoven.
